Savannah, Georgia

Today, (Saturday) I've been home and didn't do much of anything, other than writing some Christmas cards and sleep a looooot. I haven't felt too well lately and more specifically Thursday nite, so I felt it was better for me to just take this week-end off and try to rest. In reality I feel like I need a month and it wouldn't be enough time off for me now, but I'm just glad that I had this week-end. It was a rainy day and was supposed to turn to snow later in the afternoon as the temperature was falling, so a real perfect day just to stay inside and snuggle under a big warm blanket. Yeah, there were a few snowflakes, but nothing to get excited over.

Now, let me get to the card.

This gorgeous southern mansion called "The Chesnutt House" is in Savannah, Georgia and I was lucky enough to win this card in one of the forum lotteries. Totally awesome card with its beautiful purple clusters of wisteria draped over the upper portion of the twin coppered-roof porches. Thank you Scootin06 for the great card!

Ohio, USA

Here is a real fun card, that I received being in the North America November Round Robin. I really like this one a lot and thought it would be a "good one" to show here.

No stamp for this one, since it's the usual 28 cents stamps, that everyone already seen many times.

Germany

This great map card is called "Germany the beautiful".
I agree that Germany is a very beautiful country and has some really gorgeous country sites, as you can even see on this card in the different regions.

This card here shows some of the beautiful castles of Bavaria, that were built by King Ludwig II. Of course on the top left you can see the castle of Newschwanstein with it's magnificent views. Construction began in 1869 to 1892 and it's one of the world's most known castles in Germany. On the top right, the beautiful Linderhof castle . It's architecture is a mixture of Renaissance and Baroque. The bottom left shows the castle of Herrenchiemsee, which lies on an island in Lake Chiemsee in southeastern Bavaria. It was built between 1878 and 1886 and was modeled after the Louis XIV palace in Versailles. The castle has a huge park with statutes, channels and fountains surrounding it. On the bottom right is King Ludwig II of Bavaria, also known as "The Swan King".

Lapland

This is Daybreak at Pallastunturi. It's one of Lapland's famous natural and scenic attractions. The National Park has 150 000 visitors annually and is a great place for hiking or just enjoying nature's beauty.

I've had this card for a while and thought now with Thanksgiving Day being over and everything being geared toward Christmas, it was the perfect time to post it. Looking at the beautiful colors and the lovely snow covered trees puts one in the 'wintry' mood and of course the holiday spirit. Also tonite with the temperature going down to 32 F (0 degrees Celsius), reminds me of winter coming.
This card was one I received being in a Round Robin and I really love it and it's also a lot bigger than the average size cards. It's just gorgeous!

Australia

This cool card from Australia is an Official One. AU-58143
I really love this card with these cute koalas. Thank you so much Penny for this awesome card!

Koalas live in eastern Australian eucalypt forests, where they feed at dusk on the leaves of certain species. Gum leaves are low in nutrition, and Koalas spend much of the day asleep or resting in a tree fork.

This lovely nature stamp is of Russell Falls in Tasmania. Really a nice one!

Paris Postcrossing Meeting

This is a card I received from Valerie, who was the organizer of this meeting. It took place on the week-end of November 14th. Thank you so much for all, who signed my card and especially to you Val for sending me this great card. I love it!

The card is of the Bigouden Land.

These are the stamps and also the really cool postmark from Paris.

Moomin Papa

I found this adorable card in my mail today and I was so happy to get it. It's an official card FI-682415.

I absolutely love the Moomin cards. They're so cute! This here is Moominpapa and he says "Now it's time to relax and enjoy life"! I really need to follow his advice. I've been so stressed these last few months and there just isn't time for relaxation at all. Just always too much going on.
Thank you so much to Soilian for this adorable guy. I love it!

It had this nice stamp on it of a beagle hound. Great mail!

Venice, Italy

These 2 cards from Venice, Italy I received in joining a Round Robin.

This is the famous St. Markus basilica. It's one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. For its opulent design from the 11th century, its known by the nickname 'Church of Gold'.

This is the basilica della Salute, more commonly known simply as 'The Salute'. It's one of the most photographed churches in Italy.

Both cards came with this stamp.

Russia

This is a Round Robin card from my dear Stacey.
Thanks so much Stac for the great card.

I love the colors of the night sky on this card of Moscow. It's a really gorgeous view.

I really like the stamps too. They have so much detail in them. Awesome!

Vietnam

I received this great card from one of the 'GTKY' girls' recent trip there. Thank you so much Valerie for the awesome card. I love it! I also saw some of Val's pictures from her vacation and Vietnam looks like a really beautiful country.
This card shows the preparation for the Festival season in Nguyen Dong.

This cool stamp appears to be a lantern I think. I can tell that my eyesight is getting worser, because I'm having difficulty to make it out. If anyone can help?

Rotterdam, The Netherlands

This is a card I received from participating in a Round Robin.

It shows Delfshaven in Rotterdam. I love the windmill, it's really beautiful. Also, the shape of this card is more square than rectangular, which makes it different too. Great card!!!

Cool stamp too, a heart shaped globe.

Bad Kissingen, Germany

This card is of Bad Kissingen in Germany. It's a very well known spa for people to go to recuperate and relax.

Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as 'Sisi' went there several times between 1862 and 1898.
In the year 1864 Bavaria's King Ludwig II spent some time there, as well as many other famous royal personalties.

The bleeding heart stamp, one of Germany's more common stamps I think.

Hello Kitty

My very first 'Hello Kitty' card. I was so happy to receive it. I had participated in a tag to get one, but never received a card, which was a bit disappointing.
But later on I joined a lottery and won this cuuute card.
Thank you so very much Little Flower. You're very kind!

I love this card and I hope this will be the first of many in my collection.

It also has this adorable matching Hello Kitty stamp. Really sweet!

Moomin Mama

I received this adorable Moomin card as an Offical. It shows Moomin Mama.

FI-613004

I really love these cards. This is my 3rd one and I was so happy to get it. Thanks so much Sinikka.

It came with this great Moomin stamp on it and a sticker too. I love it! Thanks!!!

Portuguese Road trip

This is a card from Marta, one of the 'GTKY' girls. She went on a road trip to Spain and met up with some other postcrossers there.

Pictured is the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, Spain . It looks like such a beautiful place, especially this night view. I just love this card. Thank you so much Marta. Hugs!

Here are the signatures of those who were lucky enough to be there. Some day I hope to maybe have my name on one of those cards. It would be so awesome to actually meet up with some postcrossers in real life.

Also very cool and colorful stamp and a very legible postmark.

Some really nice stamps on this card and I tried to find out a little about them, but wasn't able to.

International Postcrossing Meeting in Helsinki

This is the great card I received from octabis of the International Postcrossing Meeting in Helsinki. I was so excited and happy to find this card in my mailbox.
Thank you so very very much Valerie for thinking of me. I love it!

It would be an awesome experience to be able to attend one of these meetings and meet so many postcrossers in person. Maybe some day!!!!

Here are the signatures of some of the participants who attended this great get-together.
Thank you to all! It's just great and means so much to me.

It's PFF again!

It's Friday and I have some more beautiful postcards I want to post for PFF. Some of the girls from the 'GTKY' thread sent me these from their travels this summer. Some really awesome places.

This one, I received from octabis. She traveled all over Scandinavia this summer and sent me this gorgeous card from Norway. It's the Geirangerfjord towards "The Pulpit" on the left and the waterfall "The Seven Sisters".

It's a fantastic view and such beautiful country. Would love to experience this breathtaking view some day myself.
Thank you Valerie for thinking of me! I love this card.

I just love this stamp. Really pretty.

Another card from Norway. This one is of Oslo, the capital city of Norway. Ula was lucky enough to spend some time there this summer and sent me this beautiful card. I love it!
Thank you so much Ula!

Absolutely love those stamps. They're gorgeous and especially love the colorful fish. Ula sent it from her home in Poland, after she got back from her trip, in case someone is wondering.

This fantastic map card is of Taiwan. Licia was invited there this summer by a friend and she sent me this great card. It's really awesome.

This card also had this great stamp on it. Very detailed.

Licia also took a trip to Shei-Pa (it's part of the 'Snow Mountain' in Taiwan.) Shei-Pa is over 2000 meters in height. There is where you can find this unique species of bears, the Formosan Black Bear. Formosa means Taiwan.
Thank so very much for the adorable bear card and thinking of me and my love for bears. Miss seeing you around on the thread.

The card also had this cute postmark. I just love it! It's really awesome. Thanks Licia.

Postcard Friendship Friday

I've been so busy and have had a lot going on these last 2 months and totally neglected my blog here, because of lack of time. Got lots of cards to post, but since today is Friday, I want to put some special cards here from my 'GTKY' friends. These are only a few, that I received from the girls. So, if you don't see your card, I will surely post it in the future for PFF.

Hong Kong

This first one is from Hong Kong from one of the girls from the 'GTKY' gang. She met up with one of the girls there and they had a wonderful time. I'd love to go there some day too and see all the neon lights and shop and explore the culture and most of all to meet one of the girls. That would be awesome.
Thanks Relie and Licia for the great card. It's gorgeous!

This are the stamps that was on the card. One already printed onto the card and a great bird one added.

Budva, Montenegro

This beautiful card came from my dear friend Ana. She came here to Budva in Montenegro on her vacation, that she was in desperate need of. I know it helped her a lot to just get away from it all for a while. I know that everybody needs that some time in their life and I'm very happy that she got this change to enjoy herself and relax and still thought of me to send me this wonderful card. Of course this is my first one from Montenegro and a great addition to my collection.
Thank you my dear friend. You're the best! I love it!

Also some really cool stamps on the card and a very legible postmark. Wonderful!

Haapsalu, Estonia

This great card is from Katy and Kriszti, when they had their mini-meeting in Haapsalu, Estonia. They had a really great time together and were very thoughtful and sent me this card from there. It meant a lot. Thank you so much girls.

Here is a great stamp too of the estonian flag. Very nice! Great postmark too!

Postcard Friendship Friday

I received this beautiful card from my friend Essi in Finland. When she saw this card, she thought about me, she said. I absolutely love this card and the colors are just awesome. Thank you for this gorgeous card. It's without a doubt one of my very favorite ones in my collection. Hugs to you Essi!

This was the stamp on the envelope. Also, a really great one.
