Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse

I always like adding to my lighthouse collection.

This beautiful lighthouse is Florida's tallest lighthouse.

From the top you'll have a spectacular view of Daytona Beach and 

the Ponce Inlet.

I'd love to visit there some day and climb to the top.

Lighthouses of West Michigan

This is a beautiful card.  I love lighthouses and these are of West Michigan.  

I'd love to visit them and climb to the top.  It's such fun.

Unfortunately the postmark is covering some of the text on the card, and I'm not able to read the names of them all.

Fire Island Lighthouse

I looove lighthouses and have had the opportunity to see some of them and climb up to the top in two of them.  That was an awesome experience. 

This here is Fire Island lighthouse on Long Beach, NY.

It's 180 feet (55m) tall and began operating in 1858.

It's now in the National Register of Historical Places.

Germany's Northern Lights

I can't believe so much time has passed since my last post.  I've been having a bit of trouble with my computer lately.  It gets too hot and cuts off.  Makes it kind of hard to scan cards, when it does that.  I'm not totally sure why this happens??  Still on the hunt for a job too, so taking a lot of time to look at the different job sights and filling out applications, but no response.  It gets me quite discouraged at times and depressed, and  then I don't feel like doing a whole lot of anything.  I'm trying to keep my hopes up and stay positive, but it's pretty difficult to do, when one is feeling down.  Anyway enough rambling about that now and on to the cards.

I love light houses and this card is absolutely awesome.  It brought a big smile to my face when I found it in my mail box.  It's just a great card showing all the light houses of Germany's North and East Coast.  

I really love this card.  It came from the Postcrossing Meeting in Berlin on 05-21-11.

So it has loads of signatures on it too, which makes it even more special to me.

Real pretty flowery stamps, but too bad, they didn't get postmarked.  I guess they somehow got by the machine.

Lighthouses

Love lighthouses and I received this beautiful panoramic lighthouse card from Miss Maple for the September RR.  They are from the original driftwood paintings by Martin Wiscombe.  I really love this card and I want to thank Saskia for sending it to me!

These great stamps were on the card.  I especially love the seal one.  So cute!!!

Saaremaa, Estonia

Kiipsaare lighthouse is located on the north west coast of Saaremaa Island, which is the largest island in Estonia.  The lighthouse is inactive now, due to wave erosion. The basement of the tower has been severely undermined and as a result it has become inclined sea ward.  

I've been wanting this card for a long time and a big 'thank you' goes out to Ella for sending it to me for the September RR.  I love this card. 

The card has some really beautiful stamps.  The one on the right has a really pretty golden background, which  can't be seen very well here.  The one on the left is a great lighthouse stamp.  Love them both!

Vormsi, Estonia

This beautiful lighthouse is in Vormsi, Estonia. I love this view and the beach. It looks so inviting to take a nice stroll along the water's edge enjoying the fresh air and nature.

Here is a little bit of information from the back of the card. The lighthouse is located on Vormsi Island. The height from the bottom is 24 m and the light altitude is 27 m.

The cast iron tower (1871), prefabricated in Lithuania, replaced a tower manufactured in England in 1864.

The Great Lakes

The Great Lakes are located between the United States and Canada. They consist of 5 lakes as seen on the map and are the largest group of freshwater lakes on earth. Sometimes called the North Coast by Americans. They hold 20 % of the world's surface fresh water. (Source wikipedia)

Love Lighthouses

Since I missed posting for PFF this week, I decided to show my lighthouse cards, which I really love each and every one of them. I think lighthouses are so fascinating. I hope to be able to visit some of them some day and climb all the stairs to get to the top.

Lighthouses of the Northsea in Belgium and the Netherlands. I received this great card from Gilles of Belgium.

This is a painting of a lighthouse and beach scene from Flora1 in Finland. I love this card, because I love the beach and seagulls and lighthouse. I love just walking along the beach feeling the sand between my toes and the water on my feet.

This is Nobska Lighthouse, Woods Hole, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It's perhaps the most picturesque lighthouse on Cape Cod. It was built in 1828 and rebuilt in 1876. More than 30 thousand vessels pass by here annually. I got this card in a Round Robin from Evanscrew.
